Spelunky 2 PC Game 2020 is a platform game. This game developed by BlitWorks and Mossmouth. Which is the sequel of the Spelunky game (2008. It was released for PlayStation 4 and Windows in September 2020. Also, announced a Nintendo Switch version release for mid-2021. It received significant acclaim upon release. The game was published by Mossmouth.
Gameplay
Similar to the previous game, Spelunky 2 is also a 2D platform video game. Where the player assumes the direction of Ana. She is the daughter of the inventor from the 1st game. She visits the Moon to find her lost parents. After that, Ana must travel deadly caves filled with opposed enemies. Also, traps for collecting treasures. If Ana dies, then she needs to start the game from the beginning. So she will lose all of the items. Therefore it will rearrange through the procedural period to present with new challenges & paths. In addition, Each level features different layers that can be searched by the player. In the game, new fields are introduced, like the lava-themed Volcana.
This game features an innovative liquid physics system. Which fluid will float naturally throughout the level. The game also promotes 4-player online multiplayer. That includes both cooperative & competitive multiplayer modes. In addition, it introduces new traps, monsters, and ridable mounts.
Development
Derek Yu was the creator of 1st game that returned to improve the sequel. He reflected on the previous development of the 1st game. While he was writing a Boss Fight Books. Where he started to have more & more schemes for the sequel. Derek Yu partnered with BlitWorks. BlitWorks is the developer of the first game in the PlayStation ports. Derek Yu needed to outsource the development of games to BlitWorks for the larger sequel’s scope. So, Yu intentionally ensured the game wouldn’t be entirely different from the previous Spelunky.
